That's an expression my father used. I think the vagueness of it probably suited him as much as it frustrated me; I thought he was being obtuse. It's possible, I know ;)

As you can see, I'm doing a little experimenting with the hi-di thing. Especially in Autumn's light, I find it quite enchanting.
My responses...your dad's expression is likened to our *over yonder*...another vague remark. And as to the other thing...I think it's "pEYEd", but don't quote me on that! :)

"Yonder" came up, but usually in a context of a "roll" being "called up" ;)
DC agrees with you on pEYEd.
PS - When I'm busy around the house, more than once I've found myself singing, "Let us labor for the Master from til setting sun..." Puts things in a larger context, you know? :)
